That is my excuse for not writing. I have the cold from HELL. That, and I am trying desperately hard to learn Adobe CS4 so that I can get some work, pay off some bills, and start saving for a house. Specifically, I have been working with Illustrator and Photoshop.
I’ve had a tough week. But things are looking up. I figured out some neat tricks and after I work through all my lessons, I think I can start putting a digital portfolio together. Here is a taste of what I am working on right now (Max’s 1st Birthday Invitations):
This is the train that I created for Max’s birthday invitations. It is only the engine. I am in the process of figuring out what I want to do with all of the cars. I will have a coal one, behind the engine, but then I don’t know what I want to do with the rest of the cars. We will see. I also did this background:
But I don’t know if I am going to use this, or create a different background. I am having a lot of fun with Illustrator. I cannot wait to be able to do this stuff really well, and really fast. I hope to turn these artist hand’s into a means to support my family one day. I really love this medium!

How cute is Max with his Gloworm?! Collin got one in the fall and he LOVES it, and not just as a snack, which is more than I can say for most of his toys. He's just the most photogenic little guy!
